| What is Travel Soccer? |
|
The Travel Soccer program provides an environment for
players who are dedicated to the game and interested in performing at
a high level. Teams are age and gender specific (ie. Under-10 Boys).
Players must tryout for a team and be selected by the coaching staff
in May. Programs are available for boys and girls age seven and older.

| How much time is
involved? |
|
Practices are run throughout the summer, usually two times
per week. Teams will often enter one or 2 tournaments during the late
summer. The Fall outdoor season is played from September through November.
All games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with one or sometimes
two games per weekend. Then, during the Winter months for January -
March, most teams will also play indoors. Practice is usually once per
week, and teams will enter tournaments, which are generally 3-5 short
games on the same day. Some teams will choose to enter a spring league,
which has games on Sunday afternoons in April and May

| Where do we travel? |
|
There are usually 10-14 regular season games each fall,
with half of them played at home and half of them away. Most of the
away games are within 15-60 minutes of Harleysville. Tournaments are
mostly within a one hour drive. Occasionally, teams will enter tournaments
that are farther away, and the players, coaches, and their families
will make it a fun weekend event in locations such as the Poconos, historic
Gettysburg, Hershey, or the Jersey Shore. The decisions of how many
and which tournaments to enter is up to each individual team.

| How else
is it different? |
|
The club has made a significant investment in its travel
program over the last couple of years. A primary objective is to provide
the highest possible level of instruction for players and coaches. Last
season, the club brought in talented and enthusiastic instructors to
work with all of our travel teams and coaches. These individuals helped
develop training programs for the teams, and helped the coaches implement
those programs. They occasionally run practices for the teams, and attended
many of our teams' games. This year, the club will be looking to make
a similar arrangement.

| How do I join? |
|
The four tryouts will be held this year on May 5, 12,
and May 19 from 8:00 - 10:00AM at the Harleysville Community Center.
It is recommended that all players attend as many as possible to improve
the chances of making a team. Players will be selected and notified
by the end of May. Once Selected, there is an additional fee of $40
per player to cover the higher costs of the travel program, as well
as the purchase price of the travel uniform.
